North Coast Cruisers Charity Event - 20/04/08   -   Click Here for Pictures
North Coast Cruisers hosted their second event of 2008 in the East Strand car park, Portrush. This cruise was in aid of The Road Trauma Support charity, set up to help victims suffering from loss or injury due to car accidents and collisions on our roads. With reports and rumours of previous successful charity events held by the NCC, this cruise was anticipated to have a huge response and as promised, an excellent turn out is the best way to describe the mass amounts of modified cars. With different areas of the car park being occupied by various sites; Scooby-Ireland, Vauxhall-NI, S44GAN and the newly formed Turbo-Cruisers site were present and an array of stylish street cars were on display.

With raffles and prizes supplied by different companies and a £3 entry fee, we're sure that NCC were successful in raising a large amount for their charity. A re-enactment of a car collision was performed with commentary from a fire-fighter with obvious experience in rescue abilities. A detailed description and superb example of the capabilities of the Emergency Services in Northern Ireland re-assured all the car enthusiasts that they were in safe hands but the vibe we were getting was that no one was going to be hitting the coast roads in any kind of crazy driving style. ("Not for a little bit anyway!" - Killen)

Overall  a good day was had and DG Cruising would like to thank the NCC for a great day out and hope for more of the same in the near future.
